Time required : The Committee will meet at least 4 times per year or more frequently as deemed necessary. Meetings will usually be online but may be in-person in Melbourne from time to time.

Duration of project : A minimum 12 month commitment, reviewed annually.

About the role

Oaktree is currently going through a period of change, with a strategic review underway through which the Board intends to seek to validate our role in the sector and determine our priorities for the future. As a member of Oaktree’s ARMC, you’ll play a key role in the governance of the organisation, assisting in overseeing our finances and organisational performance to enable our long-term sustainability and impact, and ensuring effective risk management and legal compliance. You’ll join the team of current committee members and have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from experts in their fields.

 

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
● Ensure the effectiveness of Oaktree’s financial policies, annual audit, and risk management processes.
● Provide guidance to the CFO in the preparation of the yearly budget, and advise on best practice towards the implementation of long term strategic projects and process improvements.
● Oversee the development and implementation of policies and controls to manage organisational risk and compliance.
● Work with the CFO to ensure sound financial management and record keeping.
● Provide the General Manager – Risk & Compliance with support, guidance, and feedback to ensure their professional effectiveness and development.

 

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:
● Possesses a degree of expertise in accounting policies, standards and legislation; and
● Possesses a degree of expertise in accounting and financial reporting processes and financial audit; and
● Is willing to further develop, learn and contribute to other areas of responsibility.

COMMITMENT:
● A minimum 12 month commitment, reviewed annually.
● The Committee will meet at least 4 times per year or more frequently as deemed necessary. Meetings will usually be online but may be in-person in Melbourne from time to time.
● Be available for 1-2 hours per week to provide mentorship and support to Oaktree’s CFO and General Manager – Risk and Compliance outside of meetings.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT: Valid Working with Children’s Check in
Victoria (you can apply for one if you are an interstate committee
member).
